Eyebright - Euphrasia officinalis complex is an annual herbaceous plant of the Scrophulariaceae family. The stem is 10-20 cm high upright and branched. The leaves are flat, large, serrated, opposed to ovoid. The flowers are seated in the bosom of the upper leaves. The corolla is violet, bluish, pink or white, tubular and two-aisled. The fruit of a multicolored box, crackling at the top.
Blooms in June-September.

The Eyebright is used in medicine - externally in barley lashes, conjunctivitis and others. As the herb's name indicates, it is applied primarily to enhance vision, eye inflammation, but also to enhance memory. Due to the content of galotanins and essential oils, the eye acts as an astringent and anti-inflammatory. It is applied internally to gastric and intestinal catarrhal inflammations, diseases of the stomach and intestines, the herb strengthens the functions of the stomach and intestines. It is also used for heartburn and jaundice, as well as jaundice.
Application is found in inflammatory processes of the respiratory tract, such as runny nose, flu, bronchitis, with a hoarse voice. In medicine is also recommended as a remedy for cough, lack of appetite, diarrhea.
